What type of Doctor can one see for leg problems..vein circulation, nerves, water retention, muscle cramps?
One of my leg veins was cut out...and I retain alot of water in both legs now.I also have a damaged nerve in my other leg caused by my back. My leg hurts constantly, but I do not feel my toes.I also have muscle cramps all the time.I may also have ligament damage. All this was caused by mistakes made by incompetent doctors....I need to see a specialist that is truely a specialist with leg problems.....Thanks for your help

I think you should see a neurologist and do a Google search for the top 50 or 100 neurologists (or whatever number) in your area. I have chosen doctors based on lists like that and I was never disappointed. Also, before starting procedures/getting on medication, try to see a couple of doctors and get their opinions.

Leg Vein Removal

Article by WAYNE WERTHEIM

Leg veins are particularly common due to prolonged standing, increased age, and hormonal changes. But it can also be caused by heredity, pregnancy, obesity, and sun exposure. What we call spider veins are typically the smallest, the larger veins or the reticular veins, and the largest which are the varicose veins. These leg veins exist when the vein valves work incorrectly and cause the blood to travel back down the vein to the bottom of the leg, which results to vein dilation. Most of the time leg veins are blue and bulging. Sometimes, no visible evidence is present but they are characterized by signs and symptoms such as swelling of the lower legs and ankles and discomfort when standing for long periods.People usually think that leg veins are only of cosmetic concern. What they don't know is that it can lead to ulcerations and skin changes. This is why they should be treated before it gets worse. There are ways of reducing these unsightly leg veins such as regular exercise, weight control, avoiding leg crossing, elevating the legs when resting and others. But leg veins cannot always be prevented. This is where leg vein treatments come in.The treatment varies from the leg veins' severity. Many leg veins require multiple treatments of sclerotherapy, laser ablation, or surgery, and take a few months to get the complete effect. Compression stockings may also be used. Normally, three or more sessions of the treatment are needed to achieve the desired effect. However, you cannot expect that once the treatment is done, the effect will be permanent. It depends on how many sessions you undergo as needed. You also have to avoid the factors mentioned that contribute to worsening the existence of leg veins.Normally, improvement of leg veins is visible effective immediately. Side effects such as blemishes typically disappear within two to three weeks and no aftercare is required. You can rest assured that the treatment is generally safe because it poses no health risks most especially if doctors undertaking the treatment are highly skilled. In most cases, no pain is experienced during the treatment most especially because anesthetics are applied. Pain is also minimal after the treatment so anyone can generally undergo the treatment unless you have skin problems.
